Thought I would be able to show more progress by now, but this is what I've been able to get done.

Took the rotten drip rails off.
Continuing to reshape the door opening.
Windshield opening has a little less rake, a little more chop and is welded in place at the cowl.
Starting to chop the windshield frame.

Different angles, some old gas welds, and the view from inside.

Those welds look more like brazing or something...

I never thought that leaning the posts back could have a natural flow to me but you are really setting the bar here Kevin. The car is going to be one that will be talked about for some time to come. Nice work to say the least.

Looking good Kevin. How are you planning on steering this one?

More to the point, would you do the flipped-late-box-under-the-rail deal again?

    PUFFIN... nice.

Steering is going to be an F100 box. Earlier this year I had thought I might make the HAMB drags but there is no way. I'd be happy to have the body back in one piece by then though.

The Chrisman coupe has definitely been an influence. I'm working on a way to use the '40 hoods, but haven't figured a definite solution yet.

Yeah, I did. Thought I replied to that. Half of that area is missing and what is left is either smashed flat, half rusted away, or both. Sorry.

So I was considering having everything media blasted before doing all of the final welding, but I wonder if it could it cause misalignment of the panels between the tack welds? I may just end up stripping most of it with 3M pads.

  19. In your case i would use the 3M pads........if you HAD a solid blaster that knew you and you trusted I would go that route. But since you already have it stitched together just take your time and clean it up.

FWIW, I have had it with the cost of the local blaster (and we served together and are old college buds). I am going to buy my own unit. Now that I have the space in the country and the compressor to do it.My old guy kinda retired.

Took some time last night to take the front end apart and put it back together with a V8-60 axle. Looks much better with a more narrow front end. No pics though.

    Thx Kevin,
I will keep looking at least until I get the time to try making the missing area.

WOW! Is that the same coupe you showed me when I was living down the block from you! I miss K.C. for the simple fact that shit gets done...you can keep your humidity and such.

I hope the mill is a blown flattie. Looks sooo good. Keep us posted.
