If you decide to buy I would make sure you have skills to weld this car back together .Or have real deep pockets to pay some one .I just picked up a 51 4 door Mercury for my wife I cant wait to get started on it payed 1800 with clear title .If that is the direction you are looking to go that's not a bad price .My 2 cents
Hey c1run1 go to the post by Flamedabone titled "I'm finally done block sanding my Merc" and see what he started with. IMHO it's one of the most impressive transformation and resurrection I have ever seen.
Ratatat, thanks i checked out that thread (I'm finally done block sanding my Merc ) thats a awesome thread . I'm sure i could do something with it i have the tools and the time . what i don't have is a garage big enough for all my cars . I think the best thing to do is make it look like a car again and find it a home .
When I see the firewall missing, that is the first thing I thought of. It would be easy to have those front posts out of alignment without the firewall to keep everything in the position they were originally intended to be. Are those posts that the doors mount to, perpendicular to the floor or even parallel to each other?? I agree with Icebox, you really need to get some doors on there to see how aligned those major parts of the body are.
yup when I saw d.o.c in his title....I figured this guy puts up with more shit than I got Im not a merc guy.... simply b/c Ive never found one but am looking but that looks o.k. to me....wish the frame was left alone
I have yet to see anybody that drives one of these have any ability to build a car or change the oil in one.

I was just giving you a hard time. From the looks of that chevelle I'd say you can handle that merc. It seems like a good buy to me.
