Torchmen49's Shoebox gets a face lift "The 7 Year Itch"

  1. Loving the fender treatment - one of the nicest I´ve seen, but personally I wouldn´t have taken any more out of the roof.

Good thread Mike....I love chopped shoes, and to see a guy pull it off the beaten path is very cool.....that car looks like it's always moving, and the aggressive face is nice and greasy....I can't wait to see it shiny.....

Holy crap that's a great lookin car!

  9. Very nice work, I appreciate the effort, and it's great to see glass in the car. Lot's of guys are great at cutting them apart, but can never seem to close the deal and put them all the way back together. I suppose glass is a requirement of living in "the great white north".

I love the rear end of a Shoebox and probably couldn't have brought myself to cut out the factory wind-splits. However, the Olds taillights look great ! Personally, couldn't have gotten past my predjudice for the factory look, your ability to envision something different is enviable.

When I saw the front end I immediatey thought of Keith's Shoebox (Weesner). Whoever mentioned that earlier made me laugh cuz I was already on the same page as well.

The guys are correct on point in particular though, PICK A COLOR AND PAINT THAT SLED ! !

    Nice job, Johnnie.

Dave - what can I say that hasn't already been said, maybe - Wow that bitch is tight look'n! Seriously , hats off to you for pulling off all those body mods in such a short time frame. I know how many hours of hard work you put into it so that you could drive it to BILLETPROOF & other local events. You totally have it goin on - keep up the hard work & get it in colour. Cheers Laurie

    Hey Dave,
I didn't know paint was in the plans, that would really finish it off nicely.
What color are you thinking of going with?

I agree! I prefer a more subtle chop for shoeboxes.

Why don't you get someone to photoshop some different colors on it. A HAMB'er did that for me, and that is what made me decide on the color of my ride.

Very nice car and workmanship. I want to build a box someday, and your car will be in my pictures for reference.

Ya know the more I look at the side profile shot, I actually tend to like the old roofline better. I really dig the other mods, but I think you were better off with the old line. Its still a stellar car and I love it.
