So I picked up a 63 Belair with a blown engine and I'm ready to swap it out but I'm not sure how to remove the tranny since the engine WILL not turn over. Any suggestions? thanks!

I'm thinking you're going to have to partially disassemble the engine and try to free it up. Because I can't think of any way to remove torque convertor bolts without rotating the engine.

if its an aluminum glide you can leave the convertor bolted to the flywheel and separate the motor and tranny. Fluid is going to spill out of the convertor when they come apart. After you get them apart you can get to the convertor bolts to remove it.

  4. You can pull the tranny the torque converter will stay with the engine. Then you might use a long wrench to remove the torque converter? Randall

What Wolf said. The torque converter is not bolted to the trans. Just unbolt it and slide it back
