I did a search already and I didn't find an answer to my question. What year did Grancor start making heads? I pick up a pair today and would like some info on them. Any help out there? Here they are:
according to TRJ# 18...Grancor (Andy Granateli and bros..)opened in 1944 and started selling their Grancor brand flathead intakes and heads.....
What's the going peice for these??? I don't think they were into heads & intakes as early as 1944, I would guess early 50's for those!!!
Tommy, That is a great piece. I saw that on another post. Being sent in '48 and it mentioning Grancor heads on the side bar I would guess they were in production then. I am trying to base my car on 1948 and I just want to make sure these fit.
Sweet Find Josh, love the old chicago speed stuff! I know were a Grancor intake is for one or is this going on the Coupe? or Roadster?
Saw at 2-carb Grancor intake at BTTF's for something over $500. Bought one there myself about ten years ago. Matches my heads.
I couldn't believe it when I saw them. Some guy was selling them from his trunk at gears and ears. I only got them because you weren't there!! I plan on putting them on the coupe. Just one more rare part wont hurt. The roadster plans on having stock heads...someday.
I have a set of pre 49s, also, a 3x2 for the later model. Would like to trade the 3x2 for a early model.
Does your late-model 3-2 have the square bolt pattern for the middle carb? I usta have one of them. Was told it was "rare", but that's actually the only kind of post-49 intake I've ever seen. I think the earlier intakes are way rarer.
Ha HA HA I would have bought them too, Great to see them going to a Good home and not on ebay or something. Did you find anything else. How about a set of ALLSTATE heads? I have both early and late intakes and my coupe runs the later 3x2 and does have the square carb in the center, Lincoln I was told but fit a 97 on the patter with a little fudge-in.. I was told it was rear as Hens Teeth, but seen a bunch of them and more then the "only a hand full built" NOT!
Found a box of about 30 old style hose clamps for $10. Oh, and corn, lots of it. ALLSTATE would be a nice find. Those are on my list with KOGEL and dual plug ROOF heads. Someday.
Yep, center is 4 bolt. Had another that was 3 bolt, but carbs set on angle. Probably marine. I have a friend that has a 4bbl, can't get him to turn loose.
Gregg, I'm with ya buddy like salt in a wound. But what's great your car make everyone smile and has been For years and years! How long have you had her? 15 or so?
found this on craigslist in metro det the moron said it was a 32 roadster 10,000 firm or trade for a 69 charger, His dad baught the grancor heads an intake new and the motor was never fired so he says
