This '50 shoebox I just picked up has a butt-ugly roll pan on the back. Any suggestions on fixing this mess? Does anyone have a picture of what the stock rear "area" looks like without the bumper mounted yet, so I can cut off this and mount the factory bumper?

Here is a picture of a stock rear pan/bumper. Maybe just fill the license plate recess and install a stock bumper.

  3. What you need to do is fill in the license plate area, then find a useable gravepan and bumper. You'll
probably have to get original bumper brackets too.
you'll have to grind down the sheetmetal and figure out where the roll pan was welded in and trim fron there.

Cut it off, replace with stock piece, replace bumper brackets, bolt on factory bumper?

Thanks guys. If anyone else has any pics of the rear of the car with no bumper mounted yet (construction pics?) I'd appreciate it.
