I was given these old CC plaques today by a friend who picked them up for free a while ago. They'll probably end up on the wall in the garage with a bunch of other stuff, but I figured I'd pop in here and see if anyone might have some history or stories. Just curious...
Not familar with the club. Post it on the link below just for grins. http://www.relicsandrods.com/index.html
In 65, I was a student at NTSU taking Industrial Arts courses and the instructor for the foundry class had car club plaques we could cast in aluminum. Not sure but I think that was one of the samples he had. I had my own I made that had Scavengers, and a roadster in the middle. Lost mine to time but I could still cast another. I have the master somewhere.
Matt, I've got some old Hot Rod and R&C mags that have ads where you can order those. Just pick a logo, tell them your city, and voila - they mail em to you. Jackets too. You didn't have to be much of a club to have them, lol.
Sounds like we might have taken the same foundry course 101 at North Texas only I took it in 66 - pretty cool class I thought. Professor's name was Jerry McClain I think. I've still got a few casting left from the class. Had some good times up there in Denton.
One and the same. Great instructor. Also took some other courses under Doc McCain. I went there until summer of 67 then joined the Navy. Went back and got my degree in 72.
