This show used to be a lot bigger than it is now. Burnouts, music and a TON of people. Now, the cops have stepped in and started handing out tickets. Also, the popular Mid America Raceway track in Wentzville is now neighborhoods so the Nostalgia Drags that usually followed this cruise are no longer in existance. Sad, but some cool rides nonetheless. Thought I'd share.
They took the track out? That's beyond gay! Ya'll down there need to find somethin besides Chevys to put together though. There's wayyyy too many of them in the 1st place.
Yeah the track went away a few years ago. My buddies family owned it and sold out. We all hated to see it go. Apparently some guy bought the old tower and rebuilt it in Jonesburg (if you know the area). Last I heard he was going to build another track out there. Thats all just hearsay.... btw... Chevy is the only way to go!!
This event happens twice a year! The second one is THIS FRIDAY (August 1, 2008). See my post here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=282642&highlight=wentzville Or click here for more info: http://www.harrisautoandtire.com/DARECRUISE08.html

Pretty cool to see my 55 Gasser & next to it my buddy's rat rod with my boy in that rat rod. Awsome cruise every year with good ole boys & gals...GASSER STEVE
It's happening tonight!!! Who's going, I'll be there with the Caddy. We'll be parked across from Andoro's.
I heard that the guy who bought the tower either couldn't (or didn't want to) get a permit to haul the monster. It did make it though late at night and blocking both lanes of the interstate till it made it's present resting spot. Think they were having car shows by it for a while.
