I'm using this for my T and I've been trying to track down who makes a 4 barrel intake , but haven't found anything . I'm hoping to get something like a torker 2 , also headers as cheap as possible as I'm disabled and poor

I built one of those with a Mercruiser Marine 4 barrel manifold and a little bit of a camshaft. That little beast ran pretty hard but it wasn't real smooth at low speeds, that there is an early 90' V-6 so it would be a "shaker".

Check Mercruiser/volvo type applications, as they were used in boats but as stripped down motors. You can also find them on Ebay pretty often, as they were also used in the late 80s with carburated applications.

Is yours a 229 or early 4.3? I see it has a fuel pump so it has to be early 4.3 if its a 4.3. The Eldenbrock 229 intake will fit the early 4.3 or there is the stock 4brl intake off I belive its an 86 Astro. I run the stock astro one on my 34 cheby. A frind of mine that I raced with ran a 4.3 with 229 heads with bigger valves and the astro intake. It ran damn hard. I do have an extra asto intake.

Edelbrock offers a performer 4brl intake for the 4.3 both with the early heads or for the late model vortec heads (the best for performance)

The marine manifolds are really short and compact, are open plenum type manifolds (not dual plane) with a square Holley pattern.

With a 390 cfm carb with vacuum secondaries this thing would run sweet.

A few different 4.3 V6 cars and trucks came with cheap headers from the factory. I have a set from an '86 Monte Carlo. I saw them on an '88 Astro Van and an '88 Caprice in a junk yard. I believe they also came on some pickups of the same era.

mid 80s Astros had a Quadrajet on the 4.3. Some people think the intakes are worth money, though.

i had a 229 ci v6 in my A truck, 390 holley and edllbrock intake. ran fine ,idle smoth and got 27 mpg or so on the interstate.paired with a 350th and a 3.23 8inch rear it made a sweet combo without pushing back the firewall and losing any leg room
