It's a 1.4 litre Rover K-Series 16v twin OHC lump. All ali (I think) and very light. Produces about 100bhp stock, but the owner has shoved some massive great throttle bodies on it, so the power is up on stock. This was a front-wheel-drive engine in its donor car, but its possible to buy a bellhousing and other necessary bits and pieces to convert them to RWD, as they are popular in specials and kit-cars over here. Rover as a manufacturer went bust a few years ago so they are no longer made, but there are still loads around and parts aren't a problem yet.
The rocker cover is a dummy (obviously... ) used because the stock cover is plastic & ugly.
In a car as small, light and low as Rubellion all this has led to a 15 second quarter, with a too-high rear end ratio. The owner has since fitted a lower ratio diff so should make the 14's this year.

  6. Looks like some incredible fab here, though not a traditional build; I'd like a link to some more info.

  10. Hell, it didn't even have a windshield yet then! Had to run as an Altered because it didn't have light, glass, street equipment, or even rear fenders :) Became a B/GS car after that.

Thank you for the information! The videos made clear the fact that Rubellion still has plenty of beans.
Contrary to most opinions voiced here, I prefer the current version of Rubellion to the past-decades ones.

Saw this nice understated Mk2 Zephyr at the Watford Rods show last month. It's been converted to a 2dr, and has a Cleveland in it.

i'd like to see more about the wagon in the background.

  20. It's funny how the Volvos(Sweedish?) looked a lot like U.S. and German cars of the same era.

Would this be considered a hotrod too then???? Not a "one-off", but still, you get the idea....

    Porsche Abarth.

    Body by Zagato.

That Car had some of the same Mechanical Components as the Spider James Dean got killed in.

    Hot Rod?
    I dont know... Maybe not.

But to me, a very cool Car...

Seems to me, that Threads like this one attract a lot of Cars that would have been Off Topic anyway, even if they were based on American Iron.

Not so much the Porsche, but the Cal Lookers, and the Street Rod Stuff.
