Was it sold by an ex-member, or the plaque maker? If the foundry cast them to sell, who cast them for ya'll?

I'm getting ready to have some plaques cast is why I'm asking. Either way, that ain't cool.

    Hey Buzzard,

It was an ex-member. Got the plaques from O'Brian, he's a real good guy and makes some real nice plaques.

Sold by a former member who "elected to leave" the club, who also told us that that he had the plaques for us and a jacket as well, and then gives the jacket to another "former member" because that other former member bought it for him

Well that sux all the way around. Hope you can track it down, but I bet it's just hanging on somebody's garage wall. Doubt that anybody would try to run the plaque if they weren't in the club, but you never know.

So what are you going to do if someone is running the plaque that they bought? not much. Only thing to do now is to ask Obrien truckers to stop supplying the X-member.

Yes, "shoot me a P.M so I can kick your ass" Has a nice ring, but not very effective.

We're not planning to do anything to anyone, it's not about that. I am betting that 90% of HAMBers would be respectful enough to either sell it back to us or agree to hang it on the wall. Gotta admit, it's pretty disrespectful and extremely gay to run a plaque from an existing club that your not a member of anyway. Besides, Texas is big, but not that big. If someone is running it, we'll hear about it.

That guy shouldn't have sold those plaques at Pate..What doesn't belong to you anymore, shouldn't have been used to earn a couple bucks!

Ya know I've seen hundreds if not thousands of club plaques over the years owned by non club members. Not once was the owner running it on his car, they hang on the garage wall with a shitload of others. Visitors usually admire them.

Seems kinda complimentary from where I sit, not really sure why you're sounding the alarm. Unless maybe somebody wanted to rob a bank and hang the Barons plaque on a getaway car to throw the cops off their trail. But even that wouldn't be all bad, getting a bad boy rep thru the local news and all.

So depending on where that plaque went, either some gearhead with a beer in his hand is gonna look at 25 plaques and say "That Barons one is cool". Or local chicks will think you're badasses. I see this as a win-win.

Shifty pretty well said it the way it usually is. The purchaser most likely bought the plaque for his wall and there is a good chance he thought it was from a club out of the 50's that had long disbanded.
I have one friend who sells at Cal and Az swapmeets on a regular basis (drives a converted bus and usually sells small stuff like tail light lenses) who has old plaques displayed inside but bus.

If you go that postal when someone leaves the club and doesn't sell the plaque and or jacket to current members maybe you had better put that in the bylaws.
