Jalopy Showdown a few weeks out

You should take some consolation in the fact that you live real close to the Roundup ........................................ and we don't.

 

Gonna be a much easier drive this time.

Ryan and the rest of you contemplating this, Larry and his crew put on an awesome show.
I made it once, showed up late, and still had a blast.
Been trying to get back there ever since.

What is Friday night like? (I guess what I'm asking is should I sneak out of work early on Friday?)

 

Looks like I wont be making it... Old farm auction with classic cars that is walking distance from my house is the same day

 

Forgot to mention the kitchen at the infield will be serving breakfast Saturday morning. And swap spots will be 25' x 10' , kinda set up like Carlisle where you pull in. I was up today figuring the spots. This is the first year we will have to actually mark off and assign spots.

Clark I will be bringing fresh made Cotton Candy Friday night so you can have a great sugar rush to go with your beer buzz to help keep Larry entertained in the camp all evening long. Surplus, we'll be there all day Friday, show up any time. I think the museum will be open around 5 on Friday. ALSO forgot to mention Williams Grove will have racing Thursday and Friday.

 

Ryan.... you are in Austin area? Southwest has reasonably priced flights from Austin & San Antonio direct to BWI. Showdown is ~1.5 hr ride from BWI.

 

There is no schedule of events on the site for Saturday, what time do things get started? I can't make friday.

 

for people coming in early, larry's right on the mark about racing at "the Grove" on thurs. and fri., but needed to mention that it is the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars in town both nights to do battle with the "Pennsylvania Posse" some of the best racing in the country on one of the best high horsepower dirt tracks around (long straightways, short corners).

Chopo and I are going to try to be there this saturday for the "clean-up" day.Anyone else want to come help them get the place ready for summer?

 

Williams Grove is only Thursday and Friday night. If you want Sprint car racing on Saturday night you have to go to the Fabulous Lincoln Speedway.
