Old Milwaukee,50 Merc,For Sale on E-Gay!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bad Bob, Apr 19, 2008.

  1. I guess the guy who won the car is over it already! I saw it at Boyds shop when they were building it and it's really bitchin. Would look much better chopped, but it still looks great.

not as cool as your Merc but not bad.

  3. It's really a nice car. Everything is new, still has the flatty. The interior is kinda LOUD! Too much red for me. I wanted to see what it looked like after they finished it,but it was already gone. I asked about it when I was at Boyds memorial, and was told it was already gone. I was surprised to see it for sale so fast!!!

probably selling it for the tax money owed, never really understood that. they gave a $200,000 house away here last year and a single mom with 3 kids who were living in government subsidized housing won it and it was so wonderful seeing her reaction when she realized that it was hers! but she had to put it on the market because of the taxes she owed on the home that was free. luckily the local bank here took donations and made enough to pay the taxes and set up a trust for her kids collage education.

that is a good looking Mercury there for sure, hard to believe it came from Boyds shop though.........too traditional.

  5. He really liked Traditional cars. We talked about him building some more Traditional cars and he said his customers want the newer stuff on the cars they order. There was another Merc in the back of the shop that was gonna be built, but I don't know what he had in mind for it. All of the fancy, billet shit he built was for customers. He loved checking out the cars built by home builders.

Compared to what other Merc's are going for it's a bargain at the 25k buy it now price. That probably about 1/3 of what Boyd charged for the build.

    olddeadcars.com is the buyer.

I bet its going back on the bay for a profit. A piece of history is nothing but a come up for some people, while the dollar gets weaker.

    Seems a shame- whatever...

  26. ducaoto sent me a PM that he bought it!!!! $25K.......Is he with oldeadcars.com?

  27. I like everything about this car, including the scallops. This would have been right on the button, stylewise, in the fifties.

Yes I bought the car, yes it was a great deal, how could I NOT buy it at $25k?

I know we all "avoid the Boyd" and now we kiss his ass because he's gone, but $25k for a done 50 coupe? what were you guys waiting for?
