I've known DJ all of my life, a real old friend of the familiy, but it was not until I came to share his love of hot rodding that I really got to know him. With his unmistakable way, he taught me things about both cars and life in general that I could never get from any textbook. His dedication to the flathead V8 speaks volumes about his genius and commitment, qualities that were present in all of his undertakings. A remarkable hot rodder, father, teacher, and friend. I miss him already. He did alot of living in the short time he was here, Godspeed DJ.

I've known Don for only a few years and the passion he put into every thing he did was remarkable. He became a bench racing buddy from our first conversation. The man has class by my definition and a truely loving family. He became too large a part of my life to ever forget.

From reading his posts I always thought it would be a treat to meet him. After reading this thread I know I'm poorer for not having had the privilage.
Prayers will go out to his family and friends. RIP

    Awww ... that's sad news.
He always was a "presence" here on the HAMB, good advice, very knowledgeable on flat motors.
I'll miss the "bench racing" sessions he and I had.
Don, May the drag strip in the sky, always be your best "times."
