Well after much searching and deciding on what to get, we finally have found the perfect old school ride. This is a one owner 24,000 mile, garage kept grandma car. She's a 62 Sedan De Ville in light blue with blue interior. It's had one repaint, but other than that it's all there and not rusted. This one just fell into my lap after saying to a few people that I was looking for a Caddy. Now the question is, what to do to it? I don't plan on much other than making it a reliable cruiser and just enjoying this time capsule. Here's a few pics.

    Exactly what I would do!

It doesn't need anything else. that is one clean ride. Enjoy. Don't screw it up.

First, check all of the belts and hoses and do a fluids change. If that's a 46 y/o car w/ only 24k miles, I'm sure it has some rubber rot. Also, before you go dumping money into rims and tires, etc. look it over completely and address any issues such as rust in the trunk pan and anything that comes w/ a car that's that old and has been sitting. Bitchin' score though and congrats!

Don't flat black it & don't paint the wheels red. I agree w/ the numerous others who said drop it a bit and maybe put some Supremes on it w/ skinny whites. Bad Ass! Nice lookin' car!!

i'm not touching a can of flat black for anything other than painting the exhaust pipes with it. i've been thinking about bellflowers since i've seen the car and they are going to make it on this car soon. it has glasspacks right now and it's more loud than mellow. i'll swap those out for a nice deep rumble anyday. as far as mechanically she's actually quite good, new hoses, belts, ignition, tires, carb, etc... it is leaking some trans fluid, and the brakes are soft, but a day under the car should fix all that. it's gonna be a driver without a doubt. thanks for all the replies and tips. you guys rock:D

I love it. I've been holding out for a grampa-fresh Caddy for a while. Got a '68 hardtop Sedan DeVille this weekend. Last of the stacked headlights and first for the 472.

Love your blue one. Paint and chrome are so clean, wouldn't touch those. I agree with everyone else, bellflowers, a mild lowering, and some chrome wheels (supremes or chromed steel wheels with spiders, something like that) would make perfect sense on that car. Doesn't need anything else.

Ugh please say you are kidding right? Nobody can be that lame in 2008.

Awesome car man, my girlfriend is into the 61 and 62 Caddys as of late. They seem to be somewhat hard to come by! Yours looks real clean.
