Notice they are missing the deck-lid, the coupes that is. I see that so often... I wonder why?

Man, that woodie has just been sitting out like that? looks in pretty decent shape and all the parts for templates if nothing else. That will make someone happy. I wouldn't mind getting that stock running A for a hot rod. That sheet metal would make an pretty nice project for sure if the paint is hiding a bunch of surprises. Sadly, a trip to Texas is not in my near future. :(

That Schwinn bike is actually pretty kick ass. Tons of good stuff there, if anyone goes, be sure to take pics and notes on the sale prices. Too far away for me.

He might have 'collected' it alright, but it looks like he 'stored' it all in the dam! What a pity about the woodie, if it had been kept out of the weather it might have been useful as more than some very weak, crumbling patterns.

    Cheers, Glen.

It looks like he was better at taking things apart than putting them back together. That Cad engine on the pallet with the front drive trans should be an Eldo 500.

I have to admit that my favorite piece in the auction is the Schwinn.

I'd almost bet that those of you who go will run into guys who have been trying to buys some of that stuff for the past 20 years or so.

  19. Here's what a picture of that same field of cars would look like if it was in New Jersey.

    Hey Guys,
I don't think these cars have been sitting in a field all of the time. If you'll look some of them are covered in "dust". At an auction like this, they take several weeks moving things around, putting the cars in rows, putting the parts on pallets, etc. One good thing is that Plainview is in a really dry climate. The bad thing (for buyers) is that none of this stuff is going to slip thru the cracks, it'll all bring top dollar. I've heard of people coming from several different states for the sale.

Hey that would be cool. We'll keep in touch and make it a point to hook up if we both go. I'm on vacation this week and I'll have to check the callender when I get back to work and make sure it wont be my week to work that saturday. If it is I'll have to start working on a trade with somebody.

Damnit is right. I have 10+ adds on craigslist trying to sell a bunch of stuff before we pack up and move so I had to hang around the house. Wasn't in vain at least. Im afraid to go to a sale when I got so much crap to move as it is. So did anybody go and what did you score?
