I just did a quick photoshop for comparison:

    Lowered about half a foot:

I'd like to get some opinions! What do you think?

If you don't think it looks any better 6" lower, what do you think would look real slick?

lowered 3 more inches and add a rubber rake.

...but that input doesn't mean i don't agree that it looks better lowered 6"

Sorry, but what's a "rubber rake?" I'm somewhat clueless when it comes to this terminology... ;)

Definatly going in the right direction ,but i agree with rest it needs more drop. There was a blue early /mid 60's F-100 at the Roundup a few years back and it would almost touch the ground .The rear tires were almost the same level as the bed rails (no inner fenders in the bed naturally) when dropped all the way ,and man did it look great...

I agree it looks better, but whether you go further depends on what you plan to do with it. If you keep lowering it, eventually it becomes useless as a (in order) truck, daily driver, occasional driver, vehicle. Pick what you want to do with it, and lower accordingly, but don't expect a frame-dragger to be very useful as a hauler or parts chaser.

Yeah I guess I agree, I'd either go a little lower or leave it as it is, I think it looks great right now, but then I have an O/T vehicle with a higher stance too.

The photochop looks a little awkward to me, maybe another 2 " would do it

    Okay.

I'm currently driving this ttruck pretty much as a daily driver. I would also like to retain most of its truck capabilities. Obviously, these factors limit how far I can lower it.

I'm pretty sure that if I tried to lower it anymore I would have to cut the bed floor to avoid an inevitable punkin-shaped dent in it!

everything looks better with 6 inches of drop. (except 4x4s and gassers)
just remember though, if you ain't draggin something over the rough spots, you ain't low enough.

I just measured from the very top of the punkin to the underside of the bed floor and there is currently about 8" of clearance. If I lowered the truck 6", that would leave me with a mere 2". So I think 6" is really the lowest I could go without cutting into the bed.

Its not all one level right now, but it will be after I do some work on it...

If it's not on the ground it's probably not low enough.

I'm actually working on a 64 right now for my buddy, but he's got too much redneck in his blood to let me lower the truck.

Lower it, add wide whites and lose the rear bumper! IMHO!!

Lower lower. I like where metalshape's sits. I'm aiming for about two or three inches higher than that with my '65 (we have some wicked potholes around here). Even if you have to notch your bed a bit it'd be worth it for that all important stance. imo

Hell, that sounds about right. Let me just photoshop that up...

Tell me about it; some of the potholes around here eat entire vehicles.
