Happened upon some older cars in the woods a few weeks ago and went back today to get some pics. Unfortunately, I think the cars are past saving, but I want to know if you guys think these cars would be worth getting out of there. There are a ton of trees that a person would have to cut down to get to them. I hate to post something like this on here, but I can't stand seeing cars like these going to waste.

    The cars there are:
    '58/'59 Chevy truck
    '65ish Galaxie 500XL convertible
    '61-'63 T-Bird
    '57 Bel Air
'61-'63 Futura(Falcon) that could be saved with some TLC
    Corvair Monza
    '70's Impala convertible(missing engine/tranny)
Some kind of Pontiac 4 door
    '65 GTO
    '65ish Impala SS-396
    '68-'70 T-Bird
    '64 Chevelle fender and doors

He also has a '65 Continental that I think could be saved. It needs a new decklid, both left doors and a couple other spots patched, and some interior work. i think I may be able to talk him out of it for $800.

Here's the engines out of the Impala and '68 T-Bird. Do you guys think it would be worth pulling that engine to try and use it and the tranny? Also, can anyone tell whether the engine in the T-Bird is a 390, 428, or 429?

This is one of the back wheels of the '65 GTO. Any idea what kind it is? I've never seen a steelie like it.

looks like a lifetime worth of work. are the ones in the woods free?

  6. I would at least grab the GTO and the '57 Chevy. That Chev. pickup doesn't look horrible either.

Not sure. The guy that owns them is old and tight, but since it would take so much effort to get them out of the woods, I don't think he would want much.

I looks like half and half some look savable and some looks like scrap fodder, you would be surprised what that GTO would go for on ebay. They don't look that deep in the woods just spend a day cutting up some firewood for yourself or to sell.

Some of it looks pretty bad, but I'd try to save any trim, glass, etc. You could at least sell it. Does he have any of the titles? You might want to pick the best one, then try moving it to see if it's worth the trouble - some of those look like they would totally fall apart if you moved them around much. But of course I'm totally a scavenger so I'd work out a price, then grab everything I could haul off. :D

The 57 chevy and GTO will surely have parts worth something, but worth all the efffort its gonna take you to get them out? how cheap is your time and how much gear do you have available to get them? To make a profit I'd havve to pay very very little for them...like a few hundred bucks each maybe...and I wouldn't bother with those frozen up engines, not special enough to be worth all the work if you ask me...that said, maybe a real expert will spot something special there, I'm just generalizing

It's a frickin shame, and its really cool you found them and they have as many parts as they do...if you have to chop down some trees and drag the cars sthough the woods, well they better be real special.

Maybe check on ebay and see what parts cars in the same condition are going for, if they even exist for the gto and 57 chevy

I would definitely pull out the Impala SS396, its worth some bucks even in that shape. Try to get them all for scrap price or less and cut up the firewood like I said and part out and scrap the shit boxes and sell the desirable ones and you will make some decent money.

I'd think the convertible top parts on the Ford would be worth something.

You guys still think the Goat's worth it? The roof is actually separating from the a-pillar and the floorboard is just about part of the ground now.

Looks like some good trim pieces are there. A huge amount of dedication would be needed to get any of them going again. If the Goat has a title, the paper would be valuable to a low life building a clone.
