Well, if any one can build it right, it's you, zman. I'm looking forward to seeing progress on it.

I guess "pro-built" covers a wide variety of quality methods.

It could have been, but I think this was pre OSR, I have the whole build book from 90-91... gonna go back through it and see if they documented it...

and there are a few more that are that funny.... trying to see what patch panels are available and what wil have to be scarfed from another '37

I'm trying to find a steel front end for it... this one is glass... not real thrilled with it... would rather it be all seperate pieces...

Thanks, I'm gonna get it back on the dolly I made and tear the chassis the rest of the way down...

That's fucking ridiculous! Makes me feel a little bit better about my own patches now ...

  13. He didn't say what he was "pro"? Looks like the builder was PRO-abortion, because thats what he did with those methods.

Maybe the cement was ballast for stability on the highway to offset the 'glass? ;)
I feel better and better about my work every time I see stuff like that.
What's the chance finding reasonable front sheetmetal for a reasonable price?
    Good luck with the build.

I know a guy that bought a 70's show car and it was even a magazine feature car but when he took it all apart to redo it he found 2x4's for seat risers under the carpet all tons of bondo.

jeesus that is truly bad work.
i assume by pro you just mean he paid someone else to do it...if that shop still exists you should walk in ,slap the boss upside the head, and walk out, no words said.
    that would be funny.

I work at a place that does chemical stripping/derusting of cars. It is AMAZING what you see in cars after they are stripped (bad repairs, things like that). Makes you wonder what folks are thinking, and how they stay together as long as they do. Never seen concrete though.

Funniest I've heard was a guy came to pick up his car and said "this is not my car, mine was in much better shape" (we tag each car with a number to avoid this problem) told him that the paint hides a lot.

Yeah a shop out of Florida did the whole build, the weird thing is about half of it was done nice and about half of it is WTF? I have the build book and the receipts from it.

There was a 69 Mustang fastback sitting right next to it when I went to pick it up. The body was just about perfect, it was pretty cool to see it survive in such good shape...

Bright side? Well it's a customer car and they are paying to have it redone. I'll have them in this week to go over the body...

That resembles a car that I bought from pictures,I swear it looked nice in the pix but when it was delivered it wasn't even a 30 footer. Then when I went to change the color I almost puked, all I can say is Karma

Well, at least Florida has retained it's position as the ongoing joke of traditional hot rodding.

    Yay for us.

Haven't found any rebar YET.... trying to figure out the crap though, it looks like the actually poured it in there...

Yeah poor Florida.... why do they keep doing this to themselves... the guys who did this are probably deep in the rat rod business now...
