I have posted pics of this car in the past when we were building it. Now its back from the paint shop so I thought I would share. It came a long way from where we started on it.
Looks cool, nice job, I remember seeing a black fenderless flatback in Street Rodder several yrs. ago, can't remember month or year, just remembered it really caught my eye.
Pretty cool looking '37 Ford. I've seen a '36 Ford coupe without fenders like yours in Reno, NV during Hot August Nights back in the 90's....pretty cool looking car like yours is.
I'll admit I was expecting to see an abortion...I'm impressed, good job man...and I agree with Mr. Butt Reynolds, aka SamF., bias tires would look sweet on it...
Thanks guys, Im not the owner but I did do most the fab work on the body and chassis. And yes bias plys would be cool but the owner drives it a lot and wanted to go to the radials. There are some threads under short 37 or short37 on the build if anyones interested. Here is the before and one of the inside
I have had PMs asking what all was done to the body. It started with what was left of a 2dr hump, the doors are four door doors witch ar 6" shorter. Then there is 6" cut out just behind the B post so the body is 12" shorter then stock. The top has a 3" chop. There were 6" cut out of the bottom of the doors to get rid of rust. The Rockers and tail pan were made from a doner roof of a 37 4dr. Grill shell started as a 36 cheby and hood was hand made. Deck lid was shortened 4", Lower cowl was all hand made as firewall, floor pans and the list goes on. There were parts from 4 diffrent 37s all ditch cars. 1 humb 1 slant and 2 2drs. 4 4x8 and 4 4x10 sheets of new metal formed to do the build
Normally I am not keen on fenderless fat fendered cars but your ride is a total knockout !! I may have to review my policy .
