    The 29 coupe will be known as "DARTH WALTER" because I'm a star wars nerd. The 29 pickup will simply be called "KENNY" cause thats what my girlfriend named it.

    Our shoebox has earned the name Stage Fright, if its just Pops, Me, or da Kid around when its time to go, you cant get off the key fast enough, thnk about turning the key its running.
    However if theres anyone else around, the starter grinds,, clunks and then it turns over till the battery is nearly dead,, then it'll start. )Sometimes)

    My 36 is Raqual after Raqual Welch she's always been my dream woman and my 36 was my dream car, my wife calls her the bitch. My 70 chevy longbed is ol betsy my wife named her that when we first met and it stuck. My daughter named the 69 Camaro Baby during the time she drove it so that also stuck.

    Almost always have a nickname for'em. Some reasonably original, some not at all. Still, anthropomorphism at its finest.

    Extant (latest first);
    '62 Valiant "road toad" bodied wagon ............ El Toad
    18th scratch build (a HAMBster) .................... Barn Job #18
    Lakes bucket (for a memory) ...................... Cassandra
    EMPI Sportster take-off (for a cartoon crab) .. Hawthorne
    Chopped '55 R-69 Beemer (for the feeling) ... Nightwind

    Gone (in no particular order);
    600-D Fiat (rattle can red & much dented) .... Busted Cherry
    '60 Valiant wagon (for it's taillights) ............... Cat's-eye
    '61 Valiant wagon (same reference) .............. Snake-eyes
    '50 Chev. SD ................................................ The Brick
    '49 chev 2 dr. "Torpedo" model .................... '49 Camaro
    '52 Hillman 4 dr. (with a MASSIVE flywheel) ... Scratch
    20" Factory model Whizzer ........................... Shorty
    Chopped 500 Norton twin (for a memory) ..... Tammy

    By no means all of'em, just what I recall off hand.

    Mine is "El Diablo".

    I have had the car almost 23 years and I think my wife would agree that the car might be the devil itself...

    Sandy Lee. Name was on the trunk lid when I got it. No history with the name. But a previous owner named it and thats what it's gonna stay.Bad luck to rename a car even if it is lame.

    I call my 37 Olds "Ice Breaker". When I was doing some research on the literature when the car came out in 37 a writer said that it was a great car, but the front end looked like a ice breaker.

    Back in the 1980's I had a '58 Chevy Nomad Wagon that I taught my kids to drive in and they called it the "Big Red Dinosaur".
    However I called it "Mom's Car" after the fact that alot of use drove Mom's car until we could the money to get our own car.

    We call our shop truck "Dirt Dobber" because it had a huge dirt dobber nest in the back window when we got it off the farm. It's still there. Until it falls off on it's own...it will stay there.

    My daily 65 f100 is Baby because of " come on baby you can do it". The rest are just the '50 and the '64 until they are running and reflect thier names.

  29. Right now I'm calling it THE MALLARD because it's green, common, and homely. That all will change someday though.

    Every car I have has a name here are my main head aches though!

    1957 F100 Big Window (Soon to be 394/4spd)- Sod Rod, it was my uncles when he was a kid toar up the nieghbors new sod yard with it, hence the name Sod Rod

    1994 Chevy (with '67 425 Olds/TH400)- Street Sweeper or Surprise, Street Sweeper is what my grandpa calls it he raced a few cars down the street with it, just cleans up the competion. And Surprise is just what it screams when you open the hood and there are Oldsmobile logos and Mondello logos searing into your retinas

    1929 A Tudor (with 303 rocket and hydro)- The Backburner Bastard, my dad's name for it, I have about 8,000 projects and the old Tudor got shoved to the end of line.

    1937 Olds Straight 8 Four Door Sedan- Mona my mom's name for my baby. Just because she creaks and groans, and moans.

    1980 Olds Cutlass Supreme- Boss Hog, big white cutlass, commands respect where ever it chooses to roam.

    1973 Impala 2 Door (455, TH400, soon to be 4x4 Donk)- X-File, the most "Top Secret" controversial thing in the shop. People hate it people love it, people wonder what planet it's from. She gets criticised, loved, hated, but always talked about. But ya know what? Nobody else I know is going to have a 4x4 Impala to tow their trailer!
