ID THIS Axle...DODGE AXLE?

    This pic is off the Riley Special.....I think its a Dodge.....
    can anybody confirm this.... year?

    The pic is from the Donut derlicts Saturday morning cruise a coupla years ago in Huntington beach.

    Any more pics of this car?

    Some mopar axles were round, but unless it had been reworked a lot, they never had mounts for transvers spring. they always had parallel leaves with flat mountng points on both sides.

    Looks like a very early Chrysler or reworked Franklin.

    O.K....
    If it is a Franklin.... any ideas on a certain year.....
    I am not up on my Franklins..... when were the production years..... and when did the company cease to exist or be absorbed?

    With reverse Elliot kingpins and rivetted ends, why would anyone care what it was off of, other than to avoid it like the plague?

  14. It's a chrysler axle late 20's. I have owned 2 of them. The Franklin axle has more arch to it, like on Art Chrismans modified...L.B.
