Kool April Nights?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tiny, Mar 3, 2008.

  1. Does anyone on here go to this show? I will be attending for the first time this year with some other club members. Is it anti budget cars, meaning do they only allow shiny stuff or are suede cars ok.
    Thanks

I presume you mean the one in Redding, CA
If so the last three years its rained up there that weekend. The show is pretty decent, a pretty wide array of cars, from muscle cars, rods and customs. I did see some suede cars and a original 32 "barn find" last year. The Drags are what we usually do when were up there. The track up there is probably one of the last tracks in CA that still has that old school feel to it. They apparently redid the concrete launch pad in January, so if the Rain holds out we should be good.

I used to go every year up until a few years back. Most of it is street rod stuff but they have a cool cuise. I reccomend going to the track also.

I have not been for several years, but I do remember plenty of primer cars being in attendance.
Like said, it is a WIDE variety of cars.
    A decent size show.
I would not drive way out of my way to go because it is similar stuff to most local streetrodder type of shows, but if you live somewhat nearby, why not?

  5. Thanks guys the entry form says no under construction cars. I will probably never finish mine. Though that might be there anti primer clause. As far as going I'm moving to Redding this summer so I thought it might be a good intro to the local car scene.

The weather is going to be in the mid 70s & no Rain. So you best bring your wheel's primer or painted. Last year there were about 1200 cars for the show and thats with rain in the forcast. With no rain in site for 2008 show, there should be more wheels. The car cruise on fri.nite 6-8 is kool. I usually go in front of CR Gibbs rest. & hotel on the sidewalk with my ice chest of beer & food. The best place to inter the cruise with your wheels if you are not register in from the hotels because they block all the side roads but leave all the hotel entrance's open for all the hot rods to take a break or if they have car troubles.
Hope to see you guys there. DAVE........
