    Hey Dwayne
That was pretty cool to watch how you painted that.
I enjoyed seeing your choices and how, at times, you changed your mind.
    Very cool.
You going to the March Meet in Bakersfield?
I'm gonna be set up there. So is Max Grundy.
    Hope you can make it.

That was just awesome! Thanks for sharing that. Really shows just how much work really goes into a work of art. Really cool to watch.

This week has been an amazing show...

SuperFleye- dig the tones on your photos, they are done just right... not overdone like you see all too often

Buick59- really dig the wagon, I have always dug the effect created by lighting up the interior of a vehicle... gives you that cool "christine" like look and feel. The broken glass in your photo creates some really cool highlights.

A quick drawing from me that ended up on a letter... quick stuff always turns out better... really captures the mood I look for in my monster type drawings

    ...it's a start.

I haven't done a large 30" X 40" canvas acrylic painting like this one in a long while, since 2005!

It's based off my '65 Econo.

the back ground is rattle can, but the truck will be done all with acrylics and a brush:)

I did these for another thread, trying to explore different styles and workflows .
I joined for the artshow and I try to suck as much influence from these as possible.

    GaryC.

    American Carrozzeria
I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb here and
have you consider a couple of American hot rodders
in the same company as Bertone and Pininfarina.

Dean Jeffries and for that matter Gene Winfield have to be
viewed as domestic coach builders; more than just your shade-tree
customizers, but designers who create coherent themes
with flawless construction. There's a big difference here
though. Unlike their European counterparts these men
wield as mean a torch as as they do a pencil.
The cars they created were hot rods... but more than
hot rods. Whether they were bubble topped beauties or race
tinged future brutes they were one thing...
    American conceived and American built.

For me, Jeffries and Winfield represent the true American spirit.
Perhaps a little over the top. But that's us.

Modern cars, both domestic and imports seem so cynical
when compared to the in-your-face honesty of a hot rod
    or a ground scraping custom.

    Here's this week entry.
    Dean Jeffries Mantaray.

Hey Fellas, good show so far. I've been very, very busy with the day job. I was able to get out a few new t-shirts for Vintage Drag Club. The Gas Ronda and Dick Landy are brand new. I dug out the Beebe & Mulligan for the upcoming St. Patty's day. If you don't want to get pinched and still wear a cool shirt with green in it, head over to vintagedragclub.com

  16. the course at the RCA is very good and seriously respected....just make sure they don't turn you in to a formulaic, house style, robot.
Stay with your style mate just do it with modern cars.......start with a 2 door, couped up Stype Jag.......don't for get Ian Callum, the head of styling at Jaguar has a trad 32 3 window....and one of the first people to do the RCA MA was Peter Stevens.......Lotus styler, Mclaren styler, and the last head of styling at MG Rover...he also has a T speedster and used to do the illustrations for Custom Car magazine in the UK

  23. Well, it's all been said, so I'll keep it short........YOU GUYS ROCK!! And yes, GaryC, I feel those guys do belong in the same class as some of the more mainstream coach-builders. :D

That would be, I have an on going colection of pics and most of them
I never know who takes them. I had been looking for a good caddy pic for awhile to base a painting off of and I have yet to find a better one. Great shot, I hope you didnt mind me using it

Best wishes, man!! Although, it seems to me you already have plenty of paper around to show you've mastered it...

Thanks!! Made my day.... Your photography is outstanding!

    I definitely dig it!

VERY cool indeed... the trick, a painting instructor of mine used to say, is just that: Knowing WHEN to put the brushes down.... great stuff indeed.

Thanks, man... and good to see you finally play with that brush!

AWESOME! I'm wrapped up in studying tthe history of Moonshine, and all of the automotive goodness that came from it... Great piece.

Gary C. .....damn. That is beautiful. Lostg for words on that....

    Clysdale, AMAZING. Just frigggin' kiler.

    Slide, whoa!! Kick-ass work!!

    Everyone, GREAT show!!

Go for it! I kinda pictured it to have gold leaf on the outside, and the main circle to be satin black... What you do with it is your call, though! Glad you dig it.

I'm flattered. You did a fantastic job rendering it from what I would guess was a very small photo online. Two weeks back I posted a painting someone else did of a photo I took as well. I just try and keep track of what ever work is out there that I helped influence or provided the reference for. It's always nice to provide a little credit when you can.

  30. I need a "Da Goof" one. How much?
