RIP Machine Guns and California Raisins!!! AUSTIN — Drummer Buddy Miles, who played with Jimi Hendrix and sang in the claymation commercials featuring the California Raisins in the 1980s, has died. He was 60.
Don't forget his time with Electric Flag, nor his time in San Quentin State Prison. Which I look across the water from my house, keeps me honest.
Omaha homie, drumming described as an angry cement mixer. Our sins of the past are paid in full.I will miss you and your band of gypsies Buddy.
In the early 70's Buddy lived in Newton Center Massachusetts for awhile. I remember him peddling his 10 speed bike dressed in a red, white and blue Uncle Sam's suit complete with a top hat.
Man, it seems like everyday another famous person from our past dies. He was 60? Makes me feel like a nursing home resident awaiting my turn. Buddy was a great musician and didn't get the credit he deserved. RIP Buddy.
He actually lived in Sioux Falls for a time and went to junior high here. The local paper did a story about him today. http://www.argusleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080228/NEWS/802280330/1001

R.I.P. Don't forget "Ellectric Flag" great band! I guess that means Mitch Mitchel & Billie Cox are all that's left of the Hendrix legasy.
"drinkin' that wine wine wine pass that bottle to me. You got a nickel I've got a dime. lets get together and buy some wine!" I Played the Electric Flag record 'till I wore that thing out.
