unless I'm confused he had a 51 chevy with a big block way back before he was famous, pretty sure it was black. I remember it from a car show... maybe Oakland. that was about 5000 beers ago so maybe it was someone else

  6. Ditto on the Alumatub. I think that it looks sharp. Not to goo-gawed up.

God Bless the Family, I love my hawaiian shirts too. Boyd was only 3 weeks older that myself, that sure makes one think about life. Sure hope he had a chance to make peace God...

My favorite ALL TIME Boyd build ...

It was for sale a few years ago, in Hemmings I believe ... I called about it and it was already sold :)

I would have bought it ... @ the price listed. I had already got the OK from my wife and was going to sell a bunch of Pepsi Cola Company stock to make it happen.

man, its ruff seeing the ones who had such an impact on the rodding world pass. Just in the past couple of years weve lost far too many with the passing of wally parks and robert peterson two who I always wanted to meet... but never got the chance. With the ones who started our lifestyle or raised the bar to what it is today slowly passing away or getting much older, this should inspire us young punks to gather all the information from these guys to "carry the torch" so to speak. Regardless of what style we are into or what others choose to build we should take the time to look at our surroundings and keep in mind that the future is in our hands. My prayers are with the entire coddington family.

Boyd and his work were the polar opposite of what this board means to me.

    so far off in fact
I see no reason to parade his work here.

I guess God is ready for his own Streetrod. He has the best to build it now.

While I agree on some levels (I worked for Boyd on and off for 5 years), I think a single post is ok... It's not hurting anyone.

  19. fwiw I completely disagree. He was a huge influence on the general hobby we all enjoy a little slice of.

  20. Rest in peace Boyd. Condolences to his family and friends.

    Rest in peace, Boyd.

I'm sure I will be getting comments on my "Boyd Who" license plate holder on my '48 pickup.

    God Speed Boyd..............

It is sad that death makes legends. Although there were various opinions on his style and direction, time will prove that Mr. Coddington will be a legend.

  27. Seriously if this topic is going to stay open, have some respect for the man. I'd like to see some of his early rides.

It would be tastefull to take it off. I am sure it adds nothing to the truck.

If the game of life is won by positively impacting many lives and leaving behind great memories for all...all while having the time of your life, then Mr. Boyd, you have won.

    God bless.
