I loved Boyds cars back in the 80's, problem I have with them now is that his basic style never evolved, IMO. The cars he builds now still look pretty much like the cars he was building then.

Regardless, I hate to hear that he is in bad shape. He definitely made his mark on Rodding whether you like his style or not...

  3. I couldn't agree more,,,we don't see eye to eye,,but the man and his family is whats important,,,prayers sent,,HRP

He's an icon. He's done more for this hobby than most of us will ever know. God Bless you Boyd. My prayers to you and your family.

Yes, good wishes and prayers to a guy who whether or not you like his style, is still owed a debt of gratitude for even making our hobby visable to the general public.

Also, no one, and I mean no one has the success Boyd has had without working his ass off to get it. It aint luck, or right place right time. The old saying that the harder you work the luckier you get is very true.

He is a visionary, who like Henry ford surrounded himself with craftsmen who could make his vision a reality. No one ever achieves much alone.

I am not a fan, but he is owed his due. Be praying for he and his family.

Just had a look at his site and the forum has been shut down so it looks bad.
    http://boydcoddington.com/forum/defaultdown2.html
If he has Cirrhosis ,( usual liver complaint) his days are indeed numbered . There being no cure for this deadly alchohol caused ailment and death is both painlful and long in comming.Let us hope he is not too much pain.
BTW his site sucks big time,it's like reading one continous advertisment.
Regardless of this ,I admired the fact that his earliest hemi powered rod gained him attention straight away back in the old days, but his 'formula 'style' cars are about as nice as a mass produced speed boat.

Prayers Said For Boyd And Family.

  13. My prayers and thoughts go out to Mr. Coddington and his family.
Few, if any, of the cheap shot artists can ever hope to achieve what he has.
He is, and has been, there at the forefront throughout the hot rod era.

Another reason to live every day to the fullest. You never know when something can happen. Like his style or not. He started doing this for the love of cars. Just like us. Get well Boyd.

I may not agree with his styling choices these years but he was an icon for me when i was younger. He helped evolve car customizing to what it is today
Prayers sent out to him and his family.

I hope all goes well for him and his family.

We met him at the Scottsdale Goodguys in November.
He went out of his way to be nice to my son and several other kids.

I have had the opportunity to do some business with Boyd in wheels over the last 12 years and he has always been a stand up guy to me. We wish you the best Boyd and the Coddington Family.

Our prayers are with him and family.

Someday there will be documentary of his life that will show where he came from or what he started with, and then with his tenacious attitude and work ethic, where he went and what he was able to accomplish. I won’t miss it. God Bless.

I agree with pretty much all that's been said. His style is not mine. But then again I haven't made a mark (nor will I ever) on rodding like he has so... I'll shut up about that.
    I wish him well.

This is a big thing about the HAMB that newbies don't get to see right away (Yes, I know.. I haven't been around long enough to be classified as anything but an fng).
There is a lot of trash-talking and such but when the rubber meets the road, this is a bunch of real people who do care and do good things.

    But no group hug!

Wow, I live right down the street from the shop. I saw him not to long ago driving his $100k+ black Mercedes Benz (very slow). I hope his health makes a turn for the better...
