I've got a Ford 8 inch rear from a 76' Maverick. How do you drain the fluid in this thing? Do I have to siphon it out from the fill plug? Bottom bolt on the 3rd member? Anyone know?

  2. Typically, you drop the drive shaft, pull the axles, and remove the pig (center section). Or, if the axle is out of the vehicle you can pull one axle and stand it on end.

One of the things I regret about the 9" in my roadster is not putting a drain in (a simple drilling and welding job) when it was apart. Art Morison sells a filler bung for 9" housings. Large. Really makes a statement.

    Suck it.

    :D
I'd siphon it. It won't get it all but it will get most.

what i do on our cuctomer cars is drill a drill and tap for a 1/8 pipe plug there is plenty of metal to do this use a allen head plug then it won't hang down. to drain take the plug out and take the fill plug out so it can get some air to it and no problem i hope this helps!
