Here's another from the June 67 Popular Hot Rodding. Also has an in depth article on "Ramblers In Racing" that I could scan and send you if your interested. PM me.

hell yeah for mars cheese castle. i live in milwaukee now, but fireworks, 24 hour porn outlets and cheese are still so close. was this car built in waukegan or K-town? whats the story?
Wow! Not sure how I missed this post! That pic of the Randall Rambler is awesome, and it just so happens I've seen an original of it. Check out the Falcon and the Chevy in the far lane. Looking at the pics together, you can see the one I posted is taken a few seconds later, or from a slightly different angle. Wonder if it's the same photographer? Too cool...
Randall Rambler was totally into AMC perfprmance. I'm sure you all heard of Yenko Camaro's, Nickey Motion etc. Well Randall made a 401 Gremlin !! I'll search around and see what I can find on it
Isn't that a SC/Rambler in the background? If it is, it's a very rare car in it's own right and one very much worth having in its own right. They were very competitive race cars and put more than a few of the big three's race cars on the trailer.
My dad had a friend he called "Rambler Jim" that raced a car like that in the old Oswego drag strip. I drive by his house ever so often and he still has the car sitting next to the garage at times. I hear he started racing a Ford Lightning truck and just let the rambler sit after a clutch explosion. I remember this rambler won a lot of street races, it was pure American motors he was a true rambler man.
Back in '69-'70 my dad worked for Randall Rambler and Jeep. I would go to work with him on Sat. once in a while. One of the sons was in to road racing also. You wouldn't believe what they had haning from the rafters!!!!! I seem to remember about 10 fiberglass molds/bodies up there. The Gremlin that they did was called the Gremlin X and did it cook!!!!! Good luck and good rodding!!!!!
Great car! Looks like a 67. I used to be into AMC's a few years back. 67 Was the first year of the 343. It just so happens I have a 67 Rogue for sale. It was a drag car most of it's life and needs a complete going over. They made less than 60 of the 343 Rogues.
Found the info on the 401 72 Gremlin www.gremlinx.com/RandallXR.htm they made about 20 or so low 12 sec car
