Roadster Needs color... Photoshop Ideas

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wingnutz, Oct 15, 2007.

  1. Yep... I want color and I have changed my mind several times from Washington Blue, Dark Green, to Candy Tangerine...!!!

I would like a Bright or lighter color that would enhance the stance.

I'm really seriouse and I'm looking for some great ideas and colors...!

    Here's the car....

man I dont know, the stance looks killer as it is. I was raised by a man that believes that the only colors to be used on hot rods and motorcycles is red, black, and chrome.

Then again, anyone that knows me knows all of my taste is in my mouth.

Yah its a pagan gold with what I think is an orange base........its FAR more orangey then normal Pagan Gold.

I was debating on doing my Chevy in it, but I think it's too much for such a BIG car.

How about a medium gold metal-flake root beer with a candy orange clear. Put some red/orange stripes around all the accented belt lines and body lines. A burnt orange with white stripes would look cool too...add some white wall cheater slicks in the back...mmmmm! I definitely think it lends itself more to the 60's look. No photoshop, but here's a picture of one that I like that I think of when I see your's...

  10. Sorry, I'm a photoshop clutz, but good a dreaming....;) :D

been thinking a bit more...have you considered a metalic chocolate brown? or maybe a more 'user friendly' teal colour, here's some examples of what I'm talking about....

Look pal, either get on my bandwagon, or lay on the road.:D

  12. I'm more of a 'stand-up' kinda guy.....:D , and as for that bronze color, it's great, but tend to think that since this car doesn't have much shiney chrome on it at the moment, that the other tones might suit it better...

might look into some of the old cadillac fire mist metallics... the red interior might be something that gets in the way....i think a darker color will bring the wheels out more....and make the chrome pop.....maybe a dark blue metallic....

  17. Just remember, whilst they're beautiful colors, they need to compliment/suit your car... what 'works' on one style, does not always compliment others...

The bright colors will totally compliment the smaller body on that roadster AND just like the bike, it will tend to shadow into a darker color around body curves. Give the illusion of a great 60's fade paint job at just the right angles!

I saw a really sweet gunmetal gray on a '00 yukon denali today, i can't remember what it's called though. It would look cool with big chunks of silver flake in it. i'll try and find you a picture. I think it's called Stealth Gray, it looks cool, would look good with red interior. So would a royal blue or a lighter silver maybe even beige or tan.

I going out on a limb, but I would go with black like the chassis.

It works with the interior and the wheels.

At least that's what I see.

Maybe some heavy flake red accents. flames, scallops etc.

Silvers tend to fade REAL fast and the problem with dark greys/gunmetals, is that they tend to look dirty ALL the time. Golds hide dirt VERY well.:D

I like dark almost black colors on my beers and my hot rods....

dark blues, dark wines, dark greens etc.....=great looking hot rods and gives contrast to all your shinny stuff

but, there are also good golden beers and hot rods out there.

go with the gold, too many "80's" customs with the bright yellow. Gold with some silver flake in it. That's just my 2 cents>
