    Welcome to Motorama '67!

This is my entry for Art Challenge #5.

There's already some cool customs in that thread...
    so check em out!

The original Scorpion was a coooool custom.
But to my eye, it didn't really look like a scorpion.
Soooooo... here's my entry with a stinger and an aircraft
landing light in its tail. With a mid-engine, pincher style fenders,
a tinted bubble and buckets of chrome The Scorpion is ready
    for the car show circuit!!!

  2. GaryC; You never cease to amaze me; Awesome!

Scott Irwin, "Congested" here on the HAMB, asked me to do a rendering of the Model A coupe he's in the process of building. The style of the drawing had to be reminiscent of the classic hot rod drawings by Gus Maanum (see Thread: "Early Hot Rod Sketches"). The drawing was meant to be part of a logo for the car club that Scott wants to formate around the Santa Cruz Ca. area; S.C.R.U. or Santa Cruz Rods Unlimited.

This is my earliest surviving car art.
I found it this week in my art storage files.
There were many many more but none earlier.

    It's a '63 Split window Vette as a gasser.
I was obsessed with the 63 split window that I owned at the time.

By the way... I have it on good authority, that the Seattle grunge
band pirated my name... er, well might have,
actually could have but... OK.. DIDN'T!!!

Drawn in 1968. Pencil on yellow card stock.
    Appx. 18" wide

  7. Gary C and Dutch those look fantastic.
...Unkl Ian, as you're the first striper to post today and it was a famous striper that inspired my sketch, may I just say, I love your work. You, and so many talented brushes on this H.A.M.B. board would sure make 'em proud to be associated with you.

Here's one of my favorite cars, Dean Jeffries' '33 ('34?) Sedan. The car just sets so right. Not sure i did it justice as it's a quick sketch.
(P.S. What wheels would work better on it? Superiors maybe?)

I never post here but, I've been doing some stuff I think/hope you guys like. I'm currently working on a BA degree and applying for a BFA this spring in printmaking.

If you see something that looks familiar you might just be right. These prints were based off of photographs I took @ Street Rod Natls in Louisvill circa 2006.
I did a few different versions of this car, playing around with the color and using multiple plates/colors printed on top of eachother. The reason for the random abstract lines is due to the fact that I used a USED plate. New plate this size= $12, used plate = free:)

Nice ones Tingler! Great work to all.
I've been busy catching up on computer work- so no new paintings this week- oh wait- I do have some, but you'll have to go to the show to see them. Or check them out on my website. Its a 3 person show. Candy, Big Toe and myself. If you have a chance to go- get some pictures because I'm stuck on the east coast!

  27. Haven't posted in awhile as I don't usually take pictures of work anymore. Here's a bike I did last night. The clear still has to be applied.I just did the striping and the graphics;not the layout. The color combo actually works well.
Also two fenders from a bike Ed is working on for himself. The reason one is black and one is silver is because of the way the bike is two-toned.
Also a tank for a friend of mine in Massachusetts.
