I normally don't correct spelling but Jack deserves his name spelled correctly.....Roush.....unless of course you are referring to another Jack in the area.;)

This is so cool. Love the tall intake. What a nice evolution the Flathead Ford is experiencing thanks to you guys. I wonder if Henry could have ever dreamed that descendants of his V8 would still be making waves seventy six years after the first ones appeared.

Hey, I think I've read this somewhere, but I'd like to get the straight scoop.

Do all of the old cams and other stuff work in the new motor? If I recall correctly, the article I read said that the internal parts are specific to this block.

In your picutres, it looks like the heads are standard stuff. Thanks. Best of luck with the roll out! I hope that dyno nails 300 hp.

  18. Can you let us Georgia boys know when you're in town? Roush Racing is right in the neighborhood and... we'd LOVE to see/hear this engine!!!

You guys have been promising those things for a looong time now. Is this summer a real deadline or ??? I know a lot of work and money but you have been making it sound like they were just around the corner on your site for about 2 years. Just looking for honest deadline for what appears to be great product.

I would imagine since the boys are in the Metro Detroit area that they will use the local Roush Racing facilities......right here in Livonia probably.;)

IF, I'm invited over while they are there I would be happy to tape a few pulls and post on the HAMB for everyone pleasure.:D

hmmm 339 cubes eh?? that's BIG.

here's my quickee guess. 3 7/16" is the biggest bore i've heard of stock on a flathead. with 4 1/4- 4 3/8" stroke being rather large. I'm going to go way out on a limb here and HOPE that they are using stock type ford dimensions IE crank, cam, bore spacing.

my guess on bore and stroke is 3.5" bore and 4 3/8" stroke.

Specs. from MCF web site ....

3 ½ (3.500”) finish bore size from the original 221 cubic inch that had a
    bore size of 3 1/16 (3.062”). That is a 7/16 (.437”) bore increase,
giving you with a stock crank 3 ¾ (3.750”) stroke; 289 cubic inches.
    With a 4” stroke, nets 305 c.i.
    With a 4 1/8” stroke, nets 316 c.i.
    With a 4 ¼” stroke, nets 327 c.i.
    With a 4 3/8” stroke, nets 339 c.i.

Are the water pumps Aluminum also or painted cast iron ?

If aluminum do you make them ?

Great looking set up, thanks for the keeping the flathead ALIVE for many years to come. Mr. Henry would not beleive this.

What about the flathead cooling problems? What have you done different to keep this engine cool ??

The only way that makes any sense at all is if it was designed specifically to mate up with Ardun heads and a big blower... Maybe even some one-off ohv heads...

10-15k and you're still fighting the same piston speed and volumetric efficiency grimlins... I just really don't see the point.

Some guy don't get the point. If we wanted OHVs we would use one.A good running flatmotor is a rear joy to own and drive. If I have to explain you doin't get it.
