From a Porshe to a hot rod, seems like an upgrade to me. Tell your wife to be happy that you didn't invest the money in houses and lots. ( whore houses and lots of booze )

I was watching that on TV last night. I heard them commenting on you selling the porsche and buying that hot rod. I didnt get a good look at the rpu though. I was waiting for them to show it. Now that I see it here I remember seeing that rpu on TV. Was the Porsche a kit car based on a VW? I like both cars.

Cool. Both were nice toys, but this will provide lots more headaches and busted knuckles, which are good things, right? :D Nice truck!

Good job, man. I saw that last night, as well. I also saw that episode of MG, pretty cool job of JJ to build it with the deaf kids. The looks on their faces was priceless.
Well hell, drive the wheels off the thing.

  17. If you are happy, that's what is important. I question a man that provokes and ignores his wife, but time will help.
For what it's worth I wouldn't set foot in the rpu, but I am old and set in my ways.
I really think this falls in the category of a rat rod, and certainly isn't traditional as I remember it. But again, you have to make yourself happy.
    I vote for the Porsche.

You got the only thing out of all that Monster Garage junk worth buying.

I don't watch B-J because I think it's a rediculous auction, but what kinda scratch did the RPU get?

    15k......OUCH !!!!
As long as your happy, that's all that counts - enjoy!

  25. Not quite sure what to say.
Kinda leaning toward siding with your wife.

Looking from here, the seating arrangement looks like it would be tough to spend an hour in let alone the whole day.
As is, I'm guessing it won't get driven very much or very far.

Aside from that, looks like the detail work is done fairly well.

Interesting too how everything has about the same level of rust.

Built at the Texas School for the Deaf...looks to me more like it was the Texas School for the Blind.

Sorry man, that machine needs a lot of tweaking in my mind, but I do see the potential for a cool machine if all the delicious, rat roddy goodness were stripped away.

The way I saw it was that for $15k, I doubt I could get Jesse James to build another one for me with a brand new GM crate engine, new 32 frame, Currie Rear End, new steering, brakes etc...
