I'm getting ready to build the front mount for the 241 and I need ideas.. I'm wanting to use the stock waterpump and possibly improve the mount that is under it, but I'm open to all ideas.
I dont know how to retrieve my pics off the HAMB, but I put a blown 241 in my A using a hurst style mount & it worked out great. DAVE
Maybe something fancy like: Which is aircraft strut chrome molly. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/mepages/4130streamline.php Should give you half a second faster on the ET Another idea, is just to make some brackets that bolt on to the oil pan mounting surface.
Is your waterpump area mount down low and centered? If it is, then the car probably had bellhousing side mounts. Unless you are gonna also use bellhousing side mounts, I'd ditch the low-in-front mount and find a way to attach some side-of-the-block mounts. Look over this website for LOTS of different brackets, and make your's similar if they don't have your application. http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com/
right.. I mean that should work.. but it just looks a bit sketchy.. is htat what you did? Color me retarded, but what's a hurst mount look like?
Nate... can you post up some pics as you do this? I would like to add this to the HEMI Tech section for the examples section. Not enough on "Baby Hemis" in there. Would like to feature yours. Thanks man! Scooter
Hello..This is a picture of the welded mount for H.H. aluminum mount.. If your going to use the stock mount, remember it ran on that for many years..You could reinforce it some..You'll have to build a custom mount on the frame.. Duane.
I was thinking about building everything below the waterpump.. getting rid of the pressed sheet piece.
I have a 241 in my 32 and it's been good for close to 10 years. It took a shit last year when the rubber gave out. I tossed in a new one and good to go. Nate in the Model A your going to be tight and short a few inches. So your gonna have to take it in the Front or Back.
Yes,stock mount....Pie cut it miss the lower rad hose tabs were then fabbed to the A crossmember. I don't care for the Hot Heads one....buts that just me. Jeff
You can look on my website, to see the mount I made for 270 Red Ram in a 34 pickup. It might help give you some ideas. Jimmy White
jimmy.. is it this one? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=195464&d=1149994375 if so that's really nice and simple. thanks lowlife for that picture.. I think I have a pretty good idea now, I'll post pictures when I get going on it. thanks
This is my Redram mount. I made it out of stainless, uses ford rubber biscuits and I mounted it off the front crossmember...L.B.
Here you go Dave...! Hey Dave I need to talk to you about the manual shift 700R4 tranny...! Later Mark
Nate, remember that with the centre position front mount you will need a trans adapter that allows for side mounts, or a block saver plate that extends past the block so mounts can be added. Good Luck! Gary
