241 baby hemi in an A frame.. how did you do it?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by nate, Jan 15, 2008.

  1. I'm getting ready to build the front mount for the 241 and I need ideas.. I'm wanting to use the stock waterpump and possibly improve the mount that is under it, but I'm open to all ideas.

Is your waterpump area mount down low and centered? If it is, then the car probably had bellhousing side mounts.

Unless you are gonna also use bellhousing side mounts, I'd ditch the low-in-front mount and find a way to attach some side-of-the-block mounts.

Look over this website for LOTS of different brackets, and make your's similar if they don't have your application. http://www.chassisengineeringinc.com/

Nate... can you post up some pics as you do this? I would like to add this to the HEMI Tech section for the examples section. Not enough on "Baby Hemis" in there. Would like to feature yours.

    Thanks man!

Hello..This is a picture of the welded mount for H.H. aluminum mount.. If your going to use the stock mount, remember it ran on that for many years..You could reinforce it some..You'll have to build a custom mount on the frame..

I have a 241 in my 32 and it's been good for close to 10 years. It took a shit last year when the rubber gave out. I tossed in a new one and good to go.
Nate in the Model A your going to be tight and short a few inches. So your gonna have to take it in the Front or Back:D.

You can look on my website, to see the mount I made for 270 Red Ram in a 34 pickup. It might help give you some ideas.

  16. This is my Redram mount. I made it out of stainless, uses ford rubber biscuits and I mounted it off the front crossmember...L.B.

Nate, remember that with the centre position front mount you will need a trans adapter that allows for side mounts, or a block saver plate that extends past the block so mounts can be added.
    Good Luck!
