checking bore depth??

    is their a way to check bore depth with out pulling the heads???

    Pull the pan... Need more info what brand engine? 4cyl,6cyl,8cyl, V or inline?
    Is it in the car. Some cranks can be identifide by the rear flange shape.

    im tryin to figure out if an engine is a 360, or a 390. the guy i bought it from wasnt sure.

    Pull out a spark plug ,turn that cylinder to TDC,measure top of piston to plug hole,turn crank 180 degrees, measure again and the difference between the two is the stroke
