The side valve powered AMOCAT parts hauler below has been retired in favor of something...larger. I shed a single tear in it's memory. Pictures of 'Jumbo' the new parts hauler to come eventually. Respect AMOCAT
yes this is all true but the roadster is not dead, it will live again.. and again. in fact at the rate things happen over there it may not be long at all and the parts hauler is pretty cool too
Well yes, we took it apart. It was a Brookville body with pretty much everything else 32. Not trying to be a snob. Amocat has a 32 3window body and felt that that body was better suited for that chassis and motor the roadster body sat on. The roadster did go to a great home and will be back on the road very soon. It was a great deal for both parties. Very soon Amocat will be starting the restoration of the GM auto sales 41 willys coupe. This car was a national record holder in B/gas in 64 and was runner up at Indy that same year. This car is from our area here in the Northwest and has alot of local history. This was the main reason for taking the roadster apart. Dave Secrist did a tremendous job over the last few years getting as much info as possible to do the restoration. We have the easy part of now building the car. We hope to have it finished by 2009 March Meet or sooner. Steve Glucoft Amocat Speed Emporium
You both made out. I can't wait to see them both move under their own power again. I suspect the Willys will move a little faster though.
I don't understand, are you guys doing the resto for Dave or did ya'll trade? I remember when Dave got the Willys, he was so stoked. Come on with the pics and let the cat out already. The Willys will be a very cool car when done for sure.
It was a trade. The Willy's is a Amocat car now. We will do the resto starting here in the next month or so. I can't figure out where Anthony is coming from with the "Respect AMOCAT" statement. Ya got me by the balls. We don't need no stinkin respect. Steve
how about a pic of the willys in its hey day? to give us a taste you must have some vintage pic of it when it ran????
I would have to have someone else do it. I am a total fucking computer idiot. I will get something up soon. Steve Glucoft Amocat Speed Emp.
Dammit Steve, you're gonna have to master the picture download for this one. Way too many people want to watch the progress on your Willys.
Respect AMOCAT because they're working hard to raise the bar on building clean, pure hot rods and it's being done here in the Pacific NW, an area that's woefully unrecognized for having great cars and great people behind them. Steve, I love you like a Japanese porn star meth. addict loves having her butt stuffed full of eels and shooting them out on camera for her next fix.
Well I will have to say Anthony that was a great response. I understand where you were coming from now. John thanks for the compliment, very much appreciated. Lets try to get together when we are down there for the GNRS. I will call you in the next day or so. Been real busy around here. I hope all is well. Steve GLucoft Amocat Speed Emp.
Steve - that will be one cool piece of NW history when you get her done. I have these pics I got from a good friend's personal photo album (pics dated Sept. '71). May be from Bremerton as I recall. I'll be out to see this bad dude at the next Mischief Maker meetin'. Sorry missed the last one dealing with a snow and a foot of rain in B-town........................
