My 34 was built in Slidell, but I've never been there. Been to the Coonass run several times. Always wondered why my car always seemed to want to pull to the left when heading towards Hammond. Guess it wanted to go home.:D :D

You guys are lucky to be plaaning a cruise in January, when I'll probably be digging out from under another snowfall. :(

Im stoked on this, my car might not be on the road as im in the middle of bagging, disc brakes and rebuilding my front end. I should have it done by then, but you know how these things go.

    Either way im down !!!!

Hey - I'm up in North LA. I'll try to get down there! I'm actually closer to the Texas and Arkansas than South LA. I know it will be a big time. Someone send me a PM with the details.

louisiana seems to be catching on I've been doing a "louisiana" search every few days and theres been a few new people doing an intro. I've been trying to send them a PM with an invite and a link. hope some are finding it. Mike I also have there HAMB names saved if we want to send them a map. THIS THING HAS THE POTENTIAL of becoming something.

    Hey Guys,
There is a great place for a run over in Hammond. It's called Lee's Drive Inn. We used to go to the Hi Ho over there as well after the drags, once a pony time.
The meeting in Baton Rouge sounds like a great idea to meet up though.
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year as well.

    Hello to all,

Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Okay, now let's get to the next holiday, January 19, for the Louisiana HAMB Holiday. Let's start gathering at the shop at about 9:00 am. Here is a link to the Google Map to my shop.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...17,-91.055439&spn=0.059819,0.101967&z=13&om=1

Bring your favorite car and/or yourself. Lots of food and drink will be available all day. We will probably wrap up about 6:00.

I hope you can make it.

    Mike

Hi, Ron. I was born and raised here. Went to Slidell High, graduated 1967. Unfortunately, the Frostop is long gone. You may recall there was a Goodyear store on the North side of it. Well, the Goodyear store expanded and the Frostop got swallowed up. If you grew up in Slidell in the 60's, you may also recall the hamburger stand across the street in the Tammany Mall shopping center parking lot. It was the "cruise through" spot for arranging street races. I had a red '65 Impala SS with a 425 horse L78 396 and M21 Muncie. We'd race on I-10 from exit to exit, or on Rigolets Road out near Fort Pike. What a great time to grow up!

I'm going to try to come. If the weather is ok and some one will caravan with me from west Mississippi I-10 area ( fuel cell no gauge, 4.57 gear 65MPH top speed ) or let me bum a ride from there if the weather is bad ( no defrosters ).
