Thanks Burny. I agree on the grille. It will be sectioned a couple more inches. It already has 4 inches out of it. 2 more should do it. The grille is just sitting there right now so it slid down a bit. The hood will be up a bit. As far as color, I'm not sure if you can see the blue on the wheels but the truck will be a lighter shade. It's an old MBZ color. I thought it had a 30's feel to it. Frame, suspension and firewall will be black. Interior metal surfaces will be a combo of the 2 blue colors. Not sure about upholstry yet. Maybe a buckskin colored leather or maybe just plain old black. We'll see!

It's been around. Whatever you want to call it bobber, knobber, slobber, take your choice. It sure the hell is fun and I think that's what it's all about.

Since I had a someone ask to see larger view of my avitar, I figured I'd post one up, though, I have never called mine a bobber. (Ford Y block 292 in a 39 Chevy)

  9. Please don't call them bobber trucks!!! I first saw lauries truck from Canada and thought it was spot on perfect as far as the look. I then found a magazine that had rudy's truck in it. I was hooked. I love the lines and the fact that they combine cool parts from different vehicles. I was working on my 61 vw when a '46 Ford tank truck fell into my lap. It was hideous but I had bigger plans, thanks to Laurie and Rudy. You guys have inspired me to build my own rat truck, bobber truck, whatever you want to call them, I am in. I like the fact that people don't like them, that makes me want to get it done even faster so I can piss people off. I love them:D
oh yeah here's a coupe I am going to fuck up also

Here's an updated photo of it!

Man, some of you guys get "hung up" on terminology. Go hang out on Al Sharpton's forum. You should fit right in.

Like you said, there are no new totally new ideas. There are however, always new combinations to old. To me that's where the fun of it is.

Nice examples fellas, keep 'em coming.

Can you send me the rules to the ''HOT ROD game".I sure don't know about easy,I have about double the hours in my buddy's 35 pick-up chop than I had in my model a coupe,so it was far from the easy way out.Fact of the matter is,it's what he wants, and he'll be damn proud to drive the hell out of it along side of any "real hot rod".

I actually have to spend time in a salvage to get parts and replacement pannels for mine.

Course what better place to be than a salvage yard that still has old tin :)

Unlike flipping through a catolog for replacement pannels like I can do for my model T.

I will have to see if you can order that issue from their website.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Between that truck and the Rudy truck....I cant get enough of it....

What about this truck? Anyone know the story on this one? It has the look, stance and bitchin factor I want to build one like it...with a few different things to separate mine from these three....

It was in one of the Mags not too long ago, It is channeled to death, I couldn't fit in it. It belongs to a builder in Canada. Looks good till you open the doors.

That one was built by a guy named Laurie Peterson, of West Vancouver--"Ratstu" on the HAMB. There's a couple pics and a tiny blurb from Street Rodder here:
