The wife has her own 51, i have 50 & 51 that will be for sale eventually but none to call my own. UNTIL NOW!! After looking for quite awhile, walking away from a bunch and holding out for the old timers 51 coupe, (right around the corner from my house no less) Bad bob came across one before me amazingly, and let me know about it. this one was too solid to pass up. it has just a liittle rust on the passenger side floor and a few dents here and there but DAMN solid. not one extra hole in the fire wall. the dash it is missing a couple of knobs and the ignition switch so we had to jump it to here it run. one squirt of some carb cleaner and VAVROOM!! Thats all it took for me and a little haggling on the price of course. the plans are to get it road worthy, lower it and some new white sneakers and hopefully drive it to Mooneyes!! Here are a few pics i am so excited i had to tell someone!! Thanks Bob!!

You're welcome Matt. I can't wait to see it in person. I buy the Antique Trader every week,and usually Matt has already seen all the Mercs I find. I called and asked him if he saw the 51 Coupe in the trader. The ad said "stored 30 years,runs,very little rust". So he calls me and said he didn't see it. I told him to call RIGHT NOW! and call me back! I didn't hear from him til the next day,and he say's"I bought it!". That's so fuckin cool,cause he's been looking for a long time. He's just TOO damn picky!!! RIGHT ON BUDDY!!! Can't wait to go cruising with you...
after work today i took some time to evaluate the really important stuff on the merc. (cleaning the chrome bezels and the dash) its not pitted much and the chrome is not to bad, so i guess ill keep it. ill post some more pics tomorrow or so. i want to play with my new toy. but i have to get the ladies merc off the jack stands first and tinker with my bronco and get it back up for sale. before i know it, its gonna be Dec.7!!
Matt, you disguist me. Even the chrome is nice!!! Running flathead? Killer deal man, killer. Both my 51 2 drs buckle when you open the doors cuz they are rotted so bad, and for east coast, that aint that bad!!!
