Amazing...your vote does count. When I first voted the No's were winning by two percentage points...now the Yes's are winning by 4. Keep your votes coming!

  10. I voted yes. Good luck!

It was sure a sad day when they closed down the Fremont Drag Races. Hope you're able to keep your track going for many more years.

  11. fingers crossed.
    51% to 48% with a small undecided.
    Keep them coming guys.
I wish the local track had been open when I started driving.
Could have saved me a lot of grief and stupid mistakes.

    voted.

I have an idea, let's get as many dragstrips as possible closed down and make it really hard to race legally, so more people street race, putting more lives in danger so we can give out more citations, fines, criminal records and vehicle impounds in order to increase revenue for the state. You think I'm kidding but I swear that's how politicians in my wonderful state think.

Read the comments below on that web page, people allready complaining about big dads link here at jalopyjournal, and making fun of his hometown ''fort worthless texas'' i see ppl complaining about the votes being skewed because car fans from forums are voting who dont even live near the track.. just saying from what i read on those comments below this link

    Wow .. I'm famous

I hope they do REFER to the HAMB and find out just how many WORLDWIDE do care about cars, HOT RODS , racing ..etc..

Linking us to that column does nothing but prove the point how
important we feel it is that we take a stand and get involved !
No matter where we live ..Our hobbie /passion matters !

Why I refer to my city as "Fort Worthless" is because I had a close friend that passed on ..And they always were upset that I moved here and that is what THEY called it ..I have it up as a constant reminder of that person /Friend ..

    So shoot me

A SAD DAY INDEED. WORST thing Fremont has ever done..... and now we have a damn ball field going in (and I'm A's fan)...... BRING BACK THE NITRO DRAGS AND ALL WILL BE GOOD!

People wonder why street racing is so big...... it is because there are no more local tracks!

being born and raised in Fremont...... there has been nothing for a father and son to do but hang out in the garage and build cars.... then, life was good..... go to the track and watch fast cars.... come home on school nights and fall asleep to the cars going down the track.... these are all memories that you can not take away from kids.... my sister and I were the clean up crew at car shows (held at the track... and it was damn dusty out there , it wasnt easy. ..... i get the chills thinking about how much that ol track ment to our family. It is a shame that people dont know know what family time is anymore, are willing to let something as special as a local drag strip go.

You have my vote and then some!
