One of my buddies in B-ham got to work this morning to see Ain't Misbehavin' sitting in his garage (hanger). She's one of my favorite P-51's, and i like her better with the red checks vs. the older version with black checks.

Enjoy, as I know there are some closet air buffs here.

My favorite vehicle of all time, whether its a plane, car or boat. I agree, the red checkerboard looks great!

I want one in my yard!

  4. Man, do I LOVE a Mustang! P51 A's and B's are my favorites (Shangri La comes to mind)- love the sleek lines vs the bubbletop... and personally, I would rather have steel and armorplate aound the back of my head instead of plexiglass:eek: !

But if you have a supersharged Merlin in front of you ya don't need all the armor behind you! LOL.

Great god almighty - what I wouldn't give to find that in my driveway - it sure as hell wouldn't fit in MY garage!

How Ironic that you post this today, cause just this morning as I was headed into work a Wildcat flew overhead.. headed south.

Pure sex-Mustangs are not my favorite, but nothing looks like 'em, on the ground or in the air. My favorite is a P-47D with a checkered cowl. (but Tex Hill's plane comes close). Saw a show one time with some old pilots talking. One said "if you wanted to send a picture home to impress your girl, you posed on a Mustang. If you wanted to go home and marry that girl, you flew a Thundebolt." Great pics, thanks for sharing.

what a way to start the day!

wouldnt get much work done... I'd be to busy sitting in the cockpit making noises and drooling on the controls

  17. Just beautiful!! I keep asking for a ride in one for Christmas from that place in Florida. Haven't gotten it yet....and I thought the trip to Florida would sweeten the pot enough for my wife to give it to me. :)

    Bitch'n airplane.

As we close in on Veteran's day, remember that the bold young hotshots that flew those beauties in combat are leaving us at an astounding rate.

    Bless them all.

From my buddy: The autopilot isnt working thats what the Avionics guys are working on... the stick is out of it right now as they are pin to pin troubleshooting it.

Yep, I think you called that one right....I'll make room in my hangar anytime for something like this....

Merlins do sound sweet....but if you like that, you really need to listen to the engine in the enemy's plane, the Messerschmidt Bf-109. The DB-601 (inverted V-12) just sounds nasty....kinda like when you add nitro to a blown hemi.:D :D :D

Would depend on were I was going in it. A long trip and it would be nice. Playing around the neighbor hood and of course not.

What a great airplane! Only a Mustang was fast enough to shoot down an ME-262. Love "The Jug" and the P-38 as well.
