i have a ? about tire siz. i am running p235/75r15 on my poncho. there some really big tires . i would like to lower it some more with out it getting out of weird looking. hope to try to get 2 more inches than im gonna put some bags on it this winter so it will almost lay out. what tire size do u guys think i should go to. heres a pic of what it looks like currently thanks eric
Given that you want to lower it more, you might end up with something like a 225-70. That'll lower it some there. With the wheel wells as they are take measurements to see what you can deal with.my .02
205-75r15 won't look best, in my opinion. 225-70 would be a bit wide. Maybe 215-70 as a compromise. You can find diameter charts all over the internet to tell you how much smaller they are.
I'm not sure what size ya want, so I cant help you there. But this peice of info might help. If your don't already know??? On a tire that is labled 225/70, The second # (70) means that the side wall is 70% of the tread width. Hence, the smaller the # the wider the tire appears or vise versa. Bigger #, taller tire in that series(225).
I went thought this on my poncho as well. The best that I was able to come up with was 225-70. I wanted a larger patch on the ground. They tuck in the wheel wells nice.
ok so i found out that im runnin a 29 inch tall tire size .so a 205 has a tire size of 27 0r 26 so does that give me a 2 0r 3 inch drop thanks eric
I believe you will need to devide that # by 2. If I am on the same page as you??? Since a tire is round.
(Tire width in mm X Aspect ratio) / 2540 (conversion factor for Metric to English) X 2 + Wheel Diameter = Tire Diameter. 225mm (width) X 70 (aspect ratio) = 15750mm 15750mm / 2540 = 6.2007874 Inches 6.2007874 X 2 = 12.401575 12.401575 + 15 (wheel dia.) = 27.40 Inches Tire Diameter. This will vary slightly depending on manufacturer and model but it's pretty damn close.
