Joel - That car races at GG Indy every year. This is about '98 I think. The guy hasn't changed it since he built it in the 60's

guys the green ford IS "FIRESUIT PHIL" hes tills runs the car he was at Thompson OH last year with it...the paint on the car was done in the early 60's......it runs a stroked early OLDS with a tone of neat hand made stuff like a front drive distributer set up all made by Phil..and he drives the hell out of it!!.and the name comes from Phils T-shirt driving attire..ERIK

  4. Mutt & Bad55Gasser, Thanks for the update on the Ford. Amazing after all these years. I'm glad to know the car is still around and in good use.

U.S.Mule II Class winner U.S.Nationals INDY 1965 AA/MSP as found in 1993. May have the 392 HEMI in it in time for the Hot Rod Rockabilly Rumble in East Hartford this year.

How do these nose high straight axle cars drive in day to day traffic? I have a daydream of having a straight-axle car, but drive it all the time. Do they drive like a old truck? Is it darty on the road? Is driving in the rain suicidal? Just wondering...

Yeah, it is way cool too! I think I spied a round body Falcon in one of the "action" shots, too.
