Come to mention it, I think warbozz on here has the remnants of an entire WWII spark plug re-manufacturer's warehouse inventory, which is a very cool find.

    Maybe he'll chime in. :)

Autolite seems to have helped everything I've had for the last 30 years to start and run better. They last longer too

Autolite, if not available then Motorcraft.

  10. Anything but Autolite. I have had SO many problems with Autolite's it's not even funny.

I once re-wired a motorcycle 3 times, replaced the generator, replaced the coil, replaced the ignition box, all to find out that the BRAND NEW Autolite plugs I had installed weren't sparking.

    nice.

Autolite can lick my bag as far as I am concerned.

    I pretty much use Autolites.

I did an experiment back in the 60's when I worked at the service station after high school. In those days a lot of people would just have their plugs cleaned, tested and put back in. We had a plug tester that was connected to the compressed air. You put the plug in and slowly turned up the pressure while pressing the spark generator. You could see the spark through the little glass window.

Seems that of the older plugs the Autolites lasted longer, next the AC and last was the Champions verus how much air pressure (compresion) was applied.

One day I took a brand new plug of each one and tested them.
Well the Champion ran all the way up to 140 psi with no trouble. The Autolite and AC only made it to about 100 psi.

So my conclusion was that Champions were better for short term high compression performance and the others were for lower compression and longer life.

only 140? my engine makes 175-180psi, how's that factor in? now ya got me wondering :p

  29. Autolite, then AC Delco..

Those Bosch Platinums have got to be the biggest pieces of shit I've ever had to throw away. I've never bought them, just changed them out of many many customer's cars over the years.

Maybe they work good for VW's. Thats the only thing I've seen a Bosch plug not fuck up.

  30. NGK=No Good Kind, try testing and gaping plugs for a 16 Plug Hemi, which you change for every pass down the track.Usually one in four are duds, and these are the $8 each ones.
