Last year was my first year. Yeah, I'm late to everything.... there is a good chance I will come back and check it out in '08. I had a blast last year, and don't think I'll be disappointed.

any thing we can do to help ?
    PS
it would be nice to see it back on top of the parking garage seems it would be easyer to control.sides it had a better feel up there

  9. I'm going, I was before, during and after the hassles associated with the show.

I'm all about the music, and the cars, and hopefully the "VLV Police" will be out in force to assure that a fun time is had by all.

I've often wondered why it is that almost every other show we go to during the year is NOT full of drunk assholes, but somehow folk think its their right to act up at VLV?

I for one am glad that your club & Tom have reached an amicable agreement over what has (lets face it) been one of the most looked forward to shows each year.

    Well done to all parties.

    See ya there!

Pick a date, any date, and then run with it. There's no reason, it's just a cut-off date, sort of like random dates used by NSRA and Goodguys...

Just a query what is a "theme car" , I understand volks rod and f-less jeep, and what constitutes a "cartoon car" just curious.

I'd be willing to bet that it is to keep the lowrider crowd out. No one wants to see 13" 100 spoke wheels on hydros at a traditional rod and custom show. Thay tend to go for the mid sixties cars.

  18. That's great news! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

That Axle and Tom were able to work past their difficulties and bring back the Shifters C.C. show where it belongs is good news for the entire scene.

Sounds like the improvements that Axle listed will really help make the show more enjoyable for everyone. I, for one, am hoping that it returns to the top of the parking deck and I can't wait to see what bands will appear!

Communication and cooperation can overcome anything!

Good luck to Axle, the Shifters C.C. & Tom Ingram! See you all in Vegas this April.

I would say cars like the "purple people eater" would be a "cartoon car", but since it's a shifters car, I bet it will be allowed. Just a thought.

Theme/Cartoon/over exaggerated cars are what we're calling fenderless 55 Chevy truck cabs channeled over an S10 frame with a suicide front end,a 10' shifter protruding through the center of the roof,a stock 305 2 bbl engine painted all blue, with zoomie headers.

The fake hemi powered long sedan thing with skulls and iron crosses everywhere.

Also, the mid 50's fenderless Jeep wagon that attended last year with the skull grille.

    Cars like that.

We will have pictures of the type of cars no longer allowed in the VLV website.

    Hope my description helps.

    Thank you all very much.

    O.K.

As Axle knows i had attended this show in its EARLY days,
When it was actually a COOL show on top of the Parking lot.

I see some of you guys stating " CHEAP ASS HOLES" and
such when actually this show was FREE to get in.

I have never gone to watch the bands, I personally could give
a shit less about the bands & the whole scenester scene bull shit,
I am here 100% for the cars.

So, For the guy calling people "CHEAP ASS HOLES" & for Axle
cus i havent seen an answer on here yet.........

Do the car guys that want to attend The CAr show have to pay
the same $125.00 for a wrist band to get in the car show ??

Or am i shit outa luck just like the GNRS ?

Ill tell ya, I would consider coming back to the show since
i like some of the new rues Axle has set as for what can &
cannot come in .... But i will be Damned if i bring my car from
California & pay $125.00 to attend a car show that i have no
intention of going in & watching all the bands.

Didnt do it before & have raeson to start now.

Now, You all can flame me up for this.. CHEAP ASS,
NON~SUPPORTER, ALL AROUND DICK HEAD... I dont care
I just want to check out the cars and am asking if there is
a way to get in the show without buying into the music
    circus .

I meen Shit man, How many of the MUSIC lovers attend
and dont have a car ?

Why cant a car lover attend & not watch the music ?

I dont understand why people post hate....for this or any other thread, if you dont like something, dont post...it will drop to the bottom of the page....

Whatever you think of "the lifestyle", this is a fun show to attend. I think i have been in to see 1 band all the years i have gone, most of the time is spent cruising the parking lot and bsin with people i only see once a year. There are idiots everywhere (comes with being a giant, youth oriented show), but charging for car entry got rid of about 90% of them two years ago so i am for that (although, $77 for a ticket is getting a little steep...maybe a second, cheaper wristband axle?). I dont gamble or drink so this is the only reason i ever go to vegas. Looking forward to it!
