As promised, here's the kickass striping Igor did on my bass drum head at this past weekend's Blood, Sweat, and Gears show in Raleigh, NC. I play a set of 1941 Slingerland Radio Kings... same kind Gene Krupa (RULER) used to play. With a 24" bass drum, the front head is the first thing you see, so I wanted something really cool that would compliment the era of the kit. I barely described to Igor what Gene's drumhead looked like, but he already knew what I was talking about and started sketching out the design. I can't describe how bitchin' this looks in person... especially with the whole kit setup. The drums are wrapped in a green glass metallic, so the striping totally sets off the kit. And the design looks so damn natural on those old drums... it's the focal point of the kit, without even trying to be.

Here's a shot of Gene in action...

And here's a shot of Igor's amazing striping and lettering...

    Thanks again, Igor!!!

As always you guys never cease to amaze. As a person without a single artistic gene in his body, I'm impressed with anything beyond a stick figure. The talent here is simply mind blowing:D

Hey All, first time posting something for the Friday (seems like Thursday , too) Art Show. I did this for a gallery exhibit of my car art, I usually do drawings and paintings of vehicles as found in fields and barns..can't afford to buy and keep all of them, so I do drawings of them instead...

  16. great stuf this week guys!

I don't have any new art.. but I think you guys might appreciate this. The ladies in registration at the museum were getting rid of some stuff yesterday and asked if I wanted to look through it. I saw this old cigar box.. got my attention pretty quick:

but what was inside it? On the lid was this "Eversharps 1087 - 2333"

I've not counted them yet.. but if the numbers are right.. that'd be 1200 or so old mechanical pencils!

most of them have old company logos and mottos.. some are pretty cool.

    conoco:

pontiac reads "try pontiac's new safety shift and you will Shift to Pontiac".. if anyone has an idea of a date for the "new safety shift" that would be cool

Ger, thanks for posting your artwork in the thread... i was DYING to show it off as soon as your finished design was sent to me. If anyone is thinking of having any club logos, t-shirt, poster, or banner artwork designed, I highly recommend Ger Peters... he not only worked FAST, but he was able to do EXACTLY what I had in mind, and was willing to make any changes I came up with. The final results speak for themselves, I just gave him a few snapshots of my car, a rough idea of what i had in mind, and within 2 weeks he took it from concept to reality. Thanks again!

PS... Everyone else's stuff rocks this week as usual too!!!
