Eric brought most of the big parts over for this weekends chassis build earlier in the week and we did a first mockup and planned out how to achieve the look he had in mind
we chose to use a Mopar front axle as a speader bar and mount the front suspension off it suicide style, with hairpins attached to batwings
so the spare axle was cut down for a new front spreader, the frame trimmed and the new speader welded in place
the top flange of the frame was left long, the tube welded to the web, the flange wrapped around the tube and trimmed and welded
the stock front crossmember will be in the way so it has to go, we ground the rivet heads down and punched them through
the center cross member also had to go so we threw some temporary braces in out of the way and removed it too
time for a little contemplation, we stopped many times through the day to discuss the next step. preplanning is key to achieving desired results
Geez looks like all We have to do here in the Pac NW is build HOTRODS !! Looks like you guys are havin as much fun as We are. Nice work as usual looks great. FEDER
Been a fun couple of days working on Eric's rig. Great group of fella's to work with. Paul and I will see if we can really screw this thing up tomorrow while Eric(CGKidd) is gone to Virginia for a couple weeks. This pile is gonna be wild. It's so fun to work on somebody else's project. You can do whatever you want without any worries about messin it up. Ha! Ha!Ha!
