I'm in the "I don't give a shit what anybody, including Dave Hill, thinks about me or my cars" camp, but I will say I read his stuff in in Custom Rodder (I think) when he had the Stylelines column & got the distinct impression he was a pompous ass with a holier-than-thou attitude. He has his opinions & while they're just that, opinions, you're entitled to your own - no matter how wrong you might be!!

Does it really matter what he thinks?

All I can tell you is that when Dave Hill was the OG Photoshop guru back in the day he designed some ugly ass shit. I guess they were safe though because about the worst thing they could do to you is give you a paper cut.
But credit where credit's due, it wasn't Dave Hill that conjured up that POS pictured above from VLV.
I honestly thought I had a bad dream but now I realize that that car really exists.

Years ago when Mr. Hill wrote for custom rodder...he went away from here with his tail between his legs.....that was about the same time he was cruisin Paso Robles in his custom .........VW. Also about the same time he was really bitching about primered vehicles....and how they need to be finished...Doesn't he still drive a primered sedan delivery with an extra pair of windows???

 

Yes, Brewsir. Last time I saw him in Paso he had his primered sedan in tow. Along with the Honda door handles and late model Ford 3 spoke wheels.....He left it parked on Spring street, guess he didn't want to pony-up the dough to actually be part of the show.

 

Last time I saw him "profilin" it was in a green Chevy Geo Metro Convertible with the top down! But I bet that's a car Dr.J LIKES!

I prefer the blue. That's why I painted my truck 91 Geo Metro "Competition Blue" see at least they had a SENSE of HUMOR when they named the color!
And then there was the movie HERO named after the car too...Geo, in Matrix....
