So- I have the choice of having my 66 GMC pickup or the 60 Olds Super 88 worked on to finish and drive next season. Which would you do first? The pickup will be a cool nice ride- nothing wild but easily driveable and parkeable (is that a word?) and the 60 is planned to be a mild Bellflower custom. I'm torn.....Both would still fit about 20 people ...LOL
Here are some pics. The Olds has since been sandblasted and the engine removed and all that fun stuff. As you can see- its pretty nasty with rust in these BEFORE pics. Right now the color choice when done may be red and silver or blue and silver- not sure. Dont really have any of the 66 GMC because it came to me in two pieces so it doesnt look like much more than a bunch of parts...
Pick the one that'll be less work. I can't see the pics but it sounds like the Olds is the one to go with. These things always take more time than you plan on to get them done. Flatman
Both are about the same amount of work- full builds , metalwork ,body and paint. Just not sure if I want a truck or a honking huge car -both are gonna guzzle gas so that doesnt matter to me.... We are kinda building the truck to drive for a year and then sell but not sure now.
Am I the only one missing the rust here? I mean, looking at my projects, I've obvoiusly got some rose-colored glasses that don't allow me to see rust, but that thing looks good. I even checked and she's not from California... Oh yeah, do the Olds.
I'd just get the truck running but not restore it and use it for a truck. To drive in, I'd do the Olds.
I'll jump on the Olds bandwagon. I've got a big car too. You can haul plenty of parts in a trunk that big, so the truck isn't a necessity. Build the olds. Thus endeth the sermon.
