I did a search and couldn't sort through all of the misc. engine swapping banter. building the 55 merc, want to keep the original 292 y block, but would like to put something better than the original 2 speed trans. does anybody make an adapter to put a C4 or 700R4 up against that ford motor? any help would be really appreciated. thankyou

  6. There are also two other companies that make AOD adapters...Bristol Services & Hollywood Automotive. In addition, Flat-O Products makes a C4 kit that is more of a direct bolt-in, for both cars & trucks: http://www.flat-o.com/carproducts/yblock.htm

The Hollywood, Wilcap, Bristol Services, & Bendtsen kits are all adapters- nothing more, nothing less, so you will need to expect some fabrication, driveshaft mods, & so forth.
